Spanish

Master a foreign language and it could take you places.

Spanish is the official language of 20 countries, the third most spoken language in the world and the second most common language in the United States. Our program strives to ensure that you will gain a working knowledge of a second language, which is a vital and practical skill for many careers in business, education, social services, health care and the government.

Whether you're at an elementary speaking level or an advanced, a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish will help you gain a clear appreciation of Hispanic culture. Expect your schedule to be filled with a wide variety of courses in language, literature, film, and culture, as well as study abroad experiences.

Why choose Spanish at ÂÒÂ×ȺP?

Critical Languages Program

In addition to Spanish, we teach other high-demand, critical languages, such as Arabic, Chinese, German, and Portuguese.

Study Abroad

Our nationally known study-abroad program in Spain is recognized as one of the most attractive cultural and linguistic experiences at ÂÒÂ×ȺP.

Latin American Studies

The U.S. finds itself increasingly involved in Latin American culture, recognizing that the largest minority population in this nation is Hispanic. Blend your language studies with courses in Latin literature, film, and history for a deeper understanding of this rich culture.

Serve As An Ambassador

Due to their knowledge and involvement in the community, our students serve as cultural ambassadors in the Polk Hispanic Festival and in the ÂÒÂ×ȺP Latin American Film Festival.
